Description of course:

The subject of communication skills aimsto helpthe student have a knowledge of all the concepts and theories in the field of the human contact and to teach him the basic skills in the field of the communication with the self and others, and to promote its practice in his daily and practicallife through applying serious methods based on the training and diverse and effectivepromotion,so the coursehas been designed in order to be a training package for the students. Thattakes into account the selection of tools that increase the ability of understanding of the student through using appropriate illustrations, and applying the exercises which are considered as an essential component of the subject and a measure for mastering the student to the required skill.

Objectives of the course:

General objectives:

  1. The student is to be familiar with the concept of the human communication: its theories and dimensions, and its role in the success of the individual on the personal, social and practical level.
  2. The student should acquire the necessary skills for the effective communication with himself and others in his social and practical surroundings.
  3. The student should besucceedingin applying these skills invarious life situations.

Detailed objectives:

  1. Introducingthe students to the process of human communication in terms of its concept and its importance and its components, and to identify the characteristics of communication and its obstacles and various kinds.
  2. Teaching the students the necessary skills that may help them to present themselves and their ideas through applying the most effective manners.
  3. Providingthe students with the skills and abilities that may enable them to listen well tothe speakers.
  4. Recognizingthe ways of reading and acquiring its skills.
  5. Helpingthe students to develop and improve the skills of the non-verbal communication he has.
  6. Acquiring, developing and improving the skills of dialogue and persuasion for the university student.
  7. Identifyingthe patterns and means of communication in the work environment and the acquisition of communication skills efficiently in this environment.

The second unit: the skills of receiving

The third unit: the skills of sending

The fourth unit: the skills of the non-verbal communication

The fifth unit: the skills of dialogue and persuasion

The sixth unit: the communication with the environment of working

 

 

Evaluation and distributionmethods of grades:

By Periodic and final tests, exercises and training, duties, participation, interaction, and workshops.

Periodic testing= 30 grades

Final testing= 40 grades
